UWM Men, Women Earn Spots On ESPNU
MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will have a pair of games featured as part of ESPNU's Horizon League Game of the Week package this season.
The UWM men will have their Jan. 22 game at Youngstown State on ESPNU, while the UWM women will get national television coverage for their Feb. 12 contest at Green Bay.
The games are two of at least 21 games involving Horizon League teams on the ESPN networks in 2009-10. Additional games - including contests involving the UWM men at the NIT Season Tipoff - could be added to the slate as the season develops.
Plus, ESPN2 has an open slot Feb. 6 for a "wildcard" Horizon League contest.
The games on that day include the UWM men at Green Bay, with the televised game selected in mid-January.
The ESPN networks will also again have coverage of the men's tournament semifinals and finals as well as the women's tournament final.
Additional television coverage of Horizon League games, as well as the schedule for UWM's package with Sports 32, has not yet been set.
